A dark past reveals magic, murder and romance.

Kyara is one of a kind. Literally. She knows of no other half-breed Skinwitch-Werewolf. And she's learned the hard way to keep it a secret too, after all the violence the Skinwitches forced upon her as a result of that heritage. Now both Shifters and Skinwitches are hunting her and she doesn't have a clue why. A long time ago she made the mistake to trust a dangerously handsome Werewolf, but she won't make that mistake again - and she'd rather die than ever go back to the Skinwitches.

Contains explicit sex scenes.

Just as I'm complaining that there are no good new books out I stumbled across this one!!! It was great and I really love the main character. She's fierce, but not unbreakable. I love even more that she doesn't just cave into a controlling Alpha. The mate bond is frustrating (and understandable) but kyara doesn't let it control her choices. I love that she chooses freedom and her own mind over and over again.

The plot is twisting and turning enough to keep you on your toes and not make it predictable. The characters are pretty good and the main one is outstanding. I'm so excited for the next book and applaud Tarah Krace for her great first book in the series.

Chasing the Moonlit Sky #Chasing Book 1 eBook Tarah Krace Reviews

From Start to finish this book reeled me in and now I am waiting for part 2 to start. Rarely does a new author catch my attention nor rarely do I stay to finish the book but not this one. I wish that the author had started the book with a introduction of all the terms she used but I caught on real quick--thanks to the interest of Kya as a person. Thank you for writing this story and I will definitely be buying your books from now on. PS I caught your story on Instafreebie--Shame on for not publishing your book. Anymore is what I use exclusively. Keep on writing. Love your stories. Love the story of Devlon and Kya.
This book was filled with action and suspense. It was hard to put down. I loved Kyara she is a half skinwitch half werewolf and she worked hard to overcome her past and balance her duel heritage. I was scared for her when she realized she was no longer safe in the life she made for herself. It was frustrating dealing with Devon all the time.
Devon is an Alfa male that Kya met when she first escaped from the switches. Her wolf and his bonded making them mates. He freeked and screwed up big time and she took off. She is dragged back to him and he can't seem to get it right still. He forgets she knows nothing about her wolf side, is overbearing and can't get himself out of alpha mode to figure out how to listen.
I would have given it 5 but the book had several grammatical errors.
Kyara is a unique hybrid, half skinwitch and half werewolf. But being one of a kind isn't easy, her skinwitch magic and werewolf side are constantly battling each other and, even after years of trial and error and lots of meditation, finding the balance between the two isn't easy. But she'll have to if she wants to escape with her head still attached from both the werewolves and skinwitches who are hunting her.

I liked the world building with the werewolves and skinwitches, who each have very distinct and different societies. The differing cultures, which usually have very little to do with one another, were very interesting. The skinwitch magic was interesting, too, especially how each skinwitch has differing abilities and strengths. Generally, I liked Kyara as our heroine, she's flawed, but strong enough to overcome her flaws and has a pretty sassy personality.

Being a hybrid in a supernatural world is a typical theme of the urban fantasy/paranormal romance genre (I've read variations of this many times) but somehow the author manages to put a unique spin on it. It's a combination of the differing cultures of werewolf and skinwitch, the magic systems in place, and the characters themselves that drew me into the story. There were a few grammatical and spelling errors, but they didn't bother me too much (I've read books with worse).

Overall, if you like urban fantasy and paranormal romances, you'll probably like this book. I did.

<Spoilers>

I knocked half a star off for the spelling and grammar mistakes, and the other half for the male lead, Devon. Couldn't stand him. He treated Ky, his mate, like trash, both in the past and present, and has an obvious harem of women at his beck and call, which is apparently normal in werewolf culture for Alphas and not something he plans on giving up. Oh he definitely wants Ky, mostly because of the whole mate bond thing, but he never says he won't stop sleeping with other women. He actually sleeps with a couple right in front of Ky, shoving it right in her face. What. A. Jerk. It seems he just expects her to accept it because it's what Alphas do (it came across that way to me at least). Also, another thing that ticked me off was it seemed like a double standard, he could sleep with whoever he wanted whenever he wanted, but he gets angry if anyone even so much as looks at Ky. Not cool. And after everything Ky's been through I feel she deserves better than that. Count me as Team Bronn. He got revenge for her when he thought she was dead and seems to genuinely love her. Also, didn't care for Ky's wishy-washy behavior around Devon. She knows he isn't faithful and doesn't plan on being faithful, and he's betrayed her in the past, but falls back into bed with him anyway because of the 'bond'. I wish she'd fought the bond more. Hopefully, at the end she'll stay with Bronn. Or basically anyone except Devon. I can't stand him and if she goes back to him it'll just tick me off after everything he's put her through.
That was...kind of a train wreck.
The beginning was great. It has a really interesting premise, great world building. I was automatically sympathetic to the character and her plight. The plot line itself is really interesting, though I could have done without all the sexual debauchery. I don't care for reading sex scenes in the first place, but the real problem was that it made me hate some of the main characters. I couldn't respect them, and so I wasn't rooting for their relationship anymore. Why would I want her to end up with the uberjerk?
But the MAIN PROBLEM is the writing. So. Many. Mistakes. Words mixed up (embraced instead of braced, flaunted instead of flounder) words left out, sentences that just didn't make sense. Over and over again. So many of them could have been caught with one simple read through. It's like the author didn't even bother editing her own work, much less sending it to a real editor.
It has a lot of potential, but needs a whole lot more work before it's ready for public consumption.
I enjoyed the action and the h. The H has potential but not sure if he will get better. The h is strong and independent, I hope she doesn't lose it. I can't wait for the next book.
Nail biter, didn't want to put it down, Misspelled or wrong words, other editing mistakes once in a while, but good vocabulary. I dixn't like some of the made up words, like why not just say coffee instead of caffle, Really liked the tension between male & female leads,
Her mate was such a pig That it made the book hard to read. I thought the whole concept was good and that's why I gave it 3 stars. The editing was non-existent and I think the author may not have English as a first language because of the errors. Any person on the street could have edited this book into a better practice. Use beta readers .... Anything. Just do a better job and the book would be a 4. Oh and give her a better love interest.
